Passbox – What is it?
Passbox, also known as a transfer box, is widely used in cleanrooms, including hospitals, operating rooms, electronics cleanrooms, pharmaceuticals, and food industries. Its purpose is to ensure the cleanliness of the items being transferred into the cleanroom, preventing product’s surface contamination and cross-contamination.

STRUCTURE OF PASSBOX
The structure of a passbox depends on the customer’s requirements, and it typically consists of the following main components:
- Frame material: Made of electrostatic powder-coated steel or high-quality 304-grade stainless steel.
- Tempered glass door: Provides a smooth and shiny surface, allowing visibility inside the box, enhancing aesthetics and user safety.
- Intelligent interlocking system: Equipped with either a mechanical or electromagnetic lock, minimizing cross-contamination into the cleanroom and ensuring user safety.
- Air filtration system: HEPA filters efficiently capture particles as small as 0.3 microns with a filtration efficiency of 99.99%, meeting cleanroom standards.
- Air nozzles: Equipped with high-velocity air nozzles, typically operating at speeds between 20-33m/s, ensuring efficient scrubbing, which is necessary for removing airborne pollutants.
- UV disinfection light (optional): When the door is closed, the UV light automatically activates to disinfect and prevent bacterial intrusion into the cleanroom, ensuring user safety
